Childrens reading challenge
Studies have shown that children's reading can 'dip' through the long summer holidays if they don't have regular access to books and are encouraged to read for pleasure. The annual Summer Reading Challenge aims to get children reading for enjoyment and promote the use of the fabulous online resources that their local library provides.

Bridleway AV21 parapet defects
Judith Bryant (Footpath Warden) has been advised that the old railway bridge on Bridleway AV21 belongs to the Historical Railways Estate. They are aware of the parapet defects brought to their attention by Judith. The structure is being monitored regularly and an assessment and remedial works are being carried out by the Historical Railway estate.
